Every once in a while I leave the field feeling extremely happy with the result, and extremely lucky for the encounter that I experienced, and this was one of those days.
Animals such as the snow leopard demand the very best from a photographer, and I was working under extreme levels of self-imposed pressure — failure was not an option I would allow myself to consider.
The photograph has all the components that I look for in my work — emotion, intimacy, contextual narrative and a strong sense of place.
