I recently had the privilege of working closely with African Elephants once again and this time my approach was rather different to previous times; I wanted intimate imagery of Earth's biggest tenant. ⠀ ⠀
To achieve the desired imagery I had to be close, a challenge considering these animals are around 7.5m long, 3.3m high and average 6 tonnes in weight. Of course, patience is an essential prerequisite - without it you will likely leave with a memory card of 'common' images or a memory card that remains empty. ⠀ ⠀ I put in my time that day and was rewarded with a close encounter fairly late into the day, this was my stand-out image. It is a very humbling experience to stare into the eye of Earths giant and an experience that shall stay with me for the reminder of my life. We are tenants of this planet and thus we must maintain it for those that will follow us, our legacy risks becoming that of death and extinction.
