I took this on the same day as ‘Frozen Beauty’ last year, but for some reason it never made it off of the hard drives.
She sat regally for about 15 minutes, enough time for me to nail the portrait that was released last year, and then slumped back down to continue her nap. A passing bird caught her attention, and provided an opportunity to create a special portrait in front of a clouded sky — the weather was on my side that day.
I dislike using telephoto lenses unless forced to, but you can’t get close to a snow leopard without loosing your life, so for this shoot I had no choice, but I still think it’s a strong vignette.
